Learning & Development Manager, Sysco
I have enjoyed a 30 plus year career path in foodservice and have had the opportunity to experience many different aspects of our industry. This career path has allowed me to be an active participant in working though the changes and challenges we face and have faced over this course of time. Observing these changing facets encouraged me to achieve formal education in both culinary and business to prepare myself and others to be successful. I was lucky enough to be in the first wave of chefs to move from mainstream operations to healthcare which opened more career paths for culinarians through management, operations, dietetics and wellness. On the education front I have served as an adjunct instructor at both the Art Institute and at Cincinnati State College covering supply chain management, hospitality management, sustainable purchasing, nutrition as well as operations management. I now work on the distribution side of the foodservice industry with Sysco Foods in Cincinnati having held positions as account executive, contract sales manager and currently as the learning and development manager for the sales force.
